The country falls into four horizontal temperature zones based on elevation for the country. The temperate zone which is very close the the type of weather we get here has average temperature from 53.6 to 77 °F, many of Venezuela's cities, including the capital, lie in this region. Colder conditions with temperatures from 48 to 52 can be found in the high mountains in the northwest area of the country. Highlands and permanent snowfield with yearly averages below 43-52 °F cover land above 9,800 ft in the high mountain areas known as the páramos(Snow area in Highlands) but this flat snow blanket can only be found at the top of the Highland mountains. The high land are almost inhabitable because of the terrain and changing weather, it is almost impossible to grow things there.
